Marketing Systems FAQ → Building a Demand Gen Plan

How Do You Build a Demand Generation Plan?

You build a demand generation plan by creating a clear path from your best fit, target audience to a real sales conversation.

Start by defining who you want to reach and the problem your product/service helps them solve. Then create the message, offer, and channels most likely to get their attention. That may include SEO, AEO, paid ads, email, LinkedIn outreach, landing pages, or other content.

Next, decide what should happen after someone responds.

  • Where will the lead go?
  • What web page, collateral will they see?
  • How quickly will your team follow up? (The quicker, the better! Ideally within 5 minutes.
  • What emails or CRM workflows will keep the conversation moving between your team and the prospect?

Your demand generation plan should also include clear goals. Track qualified leads, booked meetings, sales opportunities, conversion rates, and revenue, not just clicks or impressions.

Without a proper demand gen strategy, your marketing likely feels noisy, disconnected, like busy work. You may even struggle to consistently create quality pipeline.

The best plans are simple enough to follow and flexible enough to improve.
